DR. Daniel Diez

Spain

Daniel is originally from Madrid where he attended Alcalá de Henares University for his Degree in Medicine and  Surgery. After that he decide to be a dentist as her father and  got his  Degree in dentistry. Daniel later attended the European Center of Orthodontics to get his Master´s degree in  Orthodontics

Actually he is Director and  Professor of the Master of Orthodontics at the University of Southern Mississippi ,Madrid, and Professor and coordinator of the  course in orthodontics and orthognathic surgery Diez & Bonilla.

Daniel is very active in the Spanish society of Orthodontics, where he is board certificate and the editor of the Spanish journal of orthodontics.

He has been 28 years in orthodontic private practice,  first at his family office  and now with his wife Elena  at Diez&Bonilla clinic in Madrid.

In his spare time Dany enjoys traveling with his 4 kids and Elena and spending time practicing sports outdoors.

Dr. Simonas Grybauskas

Lithuania

Simonas Grybauskas acquired his Dental and Medical degrees and was certified for oral and maxillofacial surgeryl in Lithuania. After numerous fellowships worldwide he acquired positions of Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vilnius University and Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and he accepted the invitation to become a Visiting Professor at Ferrara University (Italy). At present Dr. Grybauskas devotes most of his time to orthognathic and reconstructive surgery. Main focus of research at present is virtual surgical planning and enhancement of accuracy in the surgical field. Dr.Grybauskas is dedicated to the development of orthognathic surgery in the Baltic States and was the host and organizer of the first and the second Baltic Sea Conference in Orthognathic Surgery and Orthodontics in 2009 and 2015.

DR. Jorge Guiñales

Spain

Jorge Guiñales was born in Madrid where he obtained his Medical degree at Autonoma University. After passing his national exam he was accepted at University Hospital La Paz to perform his Maxillofacial residency. During the residency years he attended European University of Madrid for his Dental degree and later, he acquired his Master´s degree in Aesthetic Medicine at Complutense University of Madrid.

After various fellowships including Germany, Lithuania, USA and Brazil he was offered a Consultant position for the Orthognathic and TMJ division at Maxillofacial department of University Hospital La Paz in Madrid where he has been working and teaching new residents for the last 10 years. Dr Guiñales is also clinical professor of Maxillofacial surgery at Autonoma University in Madrid.

Currently Dr Guiñales combines his work at the hospital with his private practice at his own clinic (BeOne) where he is mainly dedicated to Orthognathic and TMJ surgery.

Dr. Dalia Latkauskiene

Lithuania

Dalia Latkauskienė, DDS, Specialist in Orthodontics, Phd

Dalia Latkauskienė graduated cum laude  from  Kaunas University of Medicine, Department of Dentistry in 1999. After graduation, she continued her studies in Orthodontics at the same university. She obtained her specialist in orthodontics with honors in 2002. Dalia Latkauskiene has applied for Phd  degree in 2004 and also continued as a lecturer for postgraduate programs in orthodontics in 2006-2007. She defended  her Phd thesis „Herbst- effects on jaws and dental arches in growing  Class II patients“ in 2013. Dalia Latkauskienė is currently working as clinical instructor for postgaduate orthodontic students in Lithuanian University of health sciences.

Dalia Latkauskienė is an international speaker. She has presented lectures, seminars and continuing education courses on crowned Herbst appliance, mixed dentition treatment, aligner treatment, adult orthodontics, multidisciplinary treatment  and combined orhodontic-orthognatic treatment (together with maxillo-facial surgon S. Grybauskas DDS, MD, Phd)  to  dental and orthodontic organizations as well as conferences mostly in European Union, Russia and some other Eastern European countries. Dalia Latkauskienė has held in-office courses for local and foreign participants on the topics listed above.

She is author and co-author of several papers in international peer-reviewed journals.

Since 2002, Dalia Latkauskienė has been in full-time private practice. Currently she is practising in multidisciplinary clinics in capital and orthodontic center in Kaunas.

Italy

Carlo Tian, DDS,  MScD Oral Surgery, MScD in Orthodontics

Graduated from University of Medicine in Verona (Italy) in 2000, then obtained both MScDs in Orthodontics and Oral Surgery from University of Medicine in Brescia (Italy) with laude. Since then I’m serving as Adjunct Professor at the same University, and work in my private practice in Brescia, Italy.

Since my early formation, my topics are TMD, Orthognathic Surgery, and the link between them and orthodontics. I attended many courses around the globe on these topics and lectured. And of course, joined BSCOSO community from the first editions.

DR. NATALYA BORCHENKO

Ukraine

Dr. Natalya Borchenko is a graduate of Odessa National Medical University, Ukraine, where she also obtained her Orthodontic and Dentofacial Orthopedics degree and PhD degree. For 14 years she runs her private orthodontic practice in Odessa. She had numerous fellowships worldwide, mainly devoted to cleft care, orthognathic surgery and TMJ disorders.

Her main focus of interest is orthodontic management of orthognatic patients and TMD disorders. Natalya is member of the Ukrainian, European, Italian Orthodontics societies, active member of BSCOSO, representative of Ukraine in EuroCleft projects. She is an active lecturer in Ukraine and runs as well an educational program for orthodontists, encouraging development of functional orthodontics in Ukraine.

Dr. Aušra Levickienė

Lithuania

Aušra Levickienė  DDS, Specialist in Periodontology.

She obtained her degree in Periodontology in Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in 2013. Since then she is working in private practice in Lithuania as periodontal specialist, in the field of periodontal and implant surgery. Aušra is a speaker at dental meetings, lecturing and giving courses on topics such as periodontal disease, periodontal plastic surgery, implant dentistry. She is a member Of Lithuanian Dental Chamber and Lithuanian Association of Periodontology.

Dr. GUNDEGA JAKOBSONE

Latvia

D.D.S., Dr.med.sc, Dr.philos., MOrthRCSEd

She graduated cum laude in Dentistry (DDS) at the Riga Medical Academy, Latvia, in 1995. She received postgraduate training and Doctor of the Medical sciences (Dr.med.sc.) at the Riga Stradins University, Latvia. In 2014 she defended thesis for the degree of Dr.philos. at the Oslo University. She holds Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh from 2003. Presently she is an Assistant Professor and the Head of the Department of Orthodontics, Riga Stradins University, Latvia and works at a private practice once a week.

She has published several articles in the international orthodontic journals in the field of orthognathic surgery, 3D evaluation of the upper airways, 3D facial scans and treatment with fixed functional appliances. The studies were conducted in cooperation with several universities world wide. She has served as a reviewer in several peer reviewed journals, lectured in conferences in Latvia and internationally. Her clinical interests include autotransplantation of teeth, management of dental trauma.
