How to reach the SurgiCam venue?
Locals and foreigners admit that public transport in Riga is very good. There is a variety of transport options that you can use when in Riga and all means of transport are easy to use. All public transport types have strict timetables (usually from 5:00 to 0:00) and unless anything extraordinary happens you can rely on them. These timetables can be found in each public transport stop.
The main provider of public transport in Riga is SIA “Rīgas Satiksme”. The company runs busses, trolleys and trams in more than 80 routes covering all of Rīga. You can find the route map, optimal route searches, timetables and information about the e-ticket on the homepage of Rīgas Satiksme or by calling 8 000 19 19 (free of charge).
Smart phone users can download public transport applications! The applications run in offline mode and provide transport routes and schedules. The applications allow transport routes to be viewed on the map and they can also display your location using GPS support.
iPhone users can download the Stops Riga app (Free or €1.59)
Android users can download the Transport in Riga Pro app (€1.75)
Airport – Riga Stradins University (RSU)
Riga International Airport (RIX) is located 8.5 km from Rīga Stradiņš University (see route). To get from the airport to RSU we recommend taking a taxi. The ride should cost anywhere between EUR 7.00 and 10.00. Please note that RSU advises the services of BalticTaxi.
Please find other useful routes and the list of taxi companies available HERE.
